Wait List

Thank you for your interest in my counselling services. I’m sorry I can’t offer you an immediate appointment.

My wait list is for new clients who would like to book a counselling session.

Your privacy is important to me and your personal information will not be shared or used for any other purpose other than contacting you when I have an opening to offer you. If you choose to submit your email address, please double-check that it has been entered accurately. If your email address is invalid, I will have no way of contacting you when an opening arises. The form is submitted securely through an encrypted connection. Once submitted, you will automatically receive a confirmation email that you have been added to my wait list. If you have not received the confirmation within 15 minutes, likely the email address was invalid or the confirmation has gone to your spam folder. Please check and add the Willow Tree email to your contacts, if you wish to receive notifications from me, particularly if you have also selected to be added to my cancellation list.

If you want off the list at any time, please let me know. Registering your name on my wait list is not a commitment to work with me, although for some it is the first important step!

Yes, please add me to your wait list.

If you have not received a confirmation within 15 minutes, the usual reason for this is because the email address that you have registered with has not been entered correctly. Please return to the wait list page and submit your information again.

Why A Wait List?

When I started my practice I made the commitment to keep Willow Tree Counselling an independent solo practice so that I could consistently offer quality individual counselling and psychotherapy to clients who wanted to work with me personally.

I have always rejected the idea of “Willow Tree Counselling Inc.”, or “Megan Sutherland and Associates.” Corporate or group counselling practices, while valuable for some, are not for me; the downside of this is that I cannot meet with everyone who contacts me, at least right away.

Stay In Touch

And yes, I receive a lot of referrals. But no matter how many people contact me seeking counselling, I truly appreciate each and every person who does. In fact, I’m honoured by your interest and am sincerely happy to hear from you. Please feel free to contact me at any time for an update on your status on my waiting list. This also helps me know that you are still interested in working with me.

You are also welcome to contact me if you want to set up a free 15-minute consultation just to meet or talk with me first.

Last-Minute Appointments

For those who have selected that they are interested in receiving notifications regarding last-minute cancellations, such openings occasionally, and sometimes even frequently, arise. These are openings that none of my current clients are able to take. Many of my new clients’ initial appointments have been when they have been able to accept appointments  on short notice. Because of the short turn-around time, these cancellations are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Urgent Appointments

If you are requiring a counselling appointment on an urgent basis, I encourage you to search for a counsellor with timely availability. I typically suggest that you ask a trusted friend, family member or health professional for a recommendation. CounsellingBC.com also has the most comprehensive directory of private counsellors in Metro Vancouver. Of course, if you are able to wait for an appointment, I would welcome the opportunity to meet with you!

Phone Counselling Appointments

If you are seeking phone counselling please contact me directly to let me know as I have a separate intake process for phone counselling.

Clinical Supervision

For counsellors or mental health professionals interested in clinical supervision, please contact me to let me know.
